Bill Bailey

by Melanie Axel-Lute
Fairly difficult - - - Becket
A1 (8)   Long lines forward and back
(4)   Men allemande right 3/4
(4)   With next man, allemande left 3/4
A2 (16)   New neighbor balance and swing
B1 (8)   Circle left (in new group of four, not including partner)
(8)   Lefthand star, hands across, don't let go
B2 (8)   Balance the star, men pull by left
(8)   Partner swing
The men's move in A1 is like the ladies' move in "Mary Cay's Reel." The lines sometimes go askew at B1. You'll always be taking hands across the set with the same shadow. Your new neighbors at A1 are the ones you swung in the previous round of the dance. This is a tricky dance with strong end effects, but it's worth it!
The name comes from the song "Bill Bailey, Won't You Please Come Home?"
